River Bar & Restaurant Limerick City Centre

Ok so I have gone here three times since I was staying at the Strand hotel and it is downstairs. The first day I went, it was decent service, had a few servers working together to help me out and ask if I need anything. They took a long time for everything I ordered to bring it out, they brought me the check but never came back for my card so I went to the bar to pay my tab, maybe that’s how it works here? Perhaps. Day 2 I rarely see my server, took forever for my chicken Caesar salad to come out, waited another long time for the check that never came, so I had to go search for my server to pay at the bar again. I’m like thinking why is everything taking SO LONG?! I don’t really understand it. Later on, I’m like you know, it’s still early, let me go down and grab a drink from the bar. I sit down and nobody ever acknowledges me. I’m there for a SOLID 15 minutes with nobody asking what I’d like to drink, as if I was a ghost. So I left, annoyed. They have good cappuccino and salads and wraps but the service is where it really needs improvement, superrrr disappointed, could be a nice spot too!

14.03.2026 A table for 2 people was reserved in advance. It was in a very inconvenient place, We asked to be planted in another place , but they refused.Our waiter doesn't know how to serve customers with tact and courtesy....They didn't bring us a wine list.They simply asked a question: Do you want white or red wine?..We just want to choose from the wine list ourselves....And there are many more nuances in service... Unpleasant impressions.....We ordered Grilled Atlantic Salmon and it was delicious, but the potatoes((( looked terrible...We went to a restaurant to have a good time, but ended up eating like we were in a train station cafeteria....Well, the prices... our bill was 77 euros for two...

This is a nice restaurant. The service was excellent and the food was good.

I had the pork belly for starters and it was really good. Nice and soft a little crispy skin and a very tasty.
For the main I had a burger which was enormous, I had to deconstruct it to eat it. The burger was tasty and I ate all of it but it didn’t hit quite as good as the pork.
For dessert I had tart tatain which came with ice cream. As with the burger It was nice and I ate all of it but it just didn’t hit the same as the pork.

I would love to come back here and try some more dishes. The pork and the service would bring me back. Overall still a very good experience.
